Laundry Room: Part 2

And the taping begins!  Once more.

I'm a little nervous to climb up on the washing machine and see what is up there....

I know that I have never dusted or even looked up there since I moved in about 1.5 years ago.  And I'm pretty certian Grumpy never did!  I don't think he even used the laundry room before I moved in.  Or ever, cause he doesn't now.  Ok, I'll stop complaining.

I decided (all on my own, because you people don't comment. ;) I still love you though!  Please don't leave) on the same color I painted that other wall and door in the hallway.  Grumpy said I could paint it any color I wanted, bright pink for all he cared.  I should have. Oh well.  I think I am going to try to paint the cabinets white.  Wait, did I tell you that already?  I don't remember.  And I might paint the front of the cabinets with that cool chalkboard paint and write inspirationally notes on them.  We shall see!

Paint, painting away!  So much fun!

Oh, and this is what happens if you think "I'm just gonna paint a couple minutes.  I don't need the dropcloth or anything, cause it'll just be a couple minutes.  I just want to use up the rest of the paint I had already poured out from the other room."

Dangit.  Learn from me, even if you are only going to paint 'a couple minutes' put something down.  Actually the paint washes off the floor pretty well, but still!  You will also end up getting paint on your nice,  non-paint clothes and that doesn't wash off.  However, then you do get to buy some new jeans!

While I was painting I had the dryer going, but then I realized, (which I am sure you did right now)  that the heat from the dryer and the fumes from the paint were going to combine and blow up.  So I quickly turned the dryer off until I was done painting.  Ok, I realize that probably isn't possible.  And if it is, please don't tell me!  And if it isn't (much more likely)  please don't stop reading my blog.  I'm only a little crazy.  (Unless you ask Grumpy, he will tell you I'm alot crazy.  But whatever.)  Seriously though, these are the thoughts that go through my head.

Oh yeah and I started taping the top of the cabinet, before I was like "um, you know NO ONE is ever going to see it up here, And you are thinking of painting these anyway!  It really doesn't matter if you get a little paint up here."  I must say though, I'm a little embarressed how much I ended up taping before I thought that.

But I was busy thinking up funny lines for the blog!  Obviously I forget all of them.  I really need to start carrying around a note pad to write this stuff down in.  Oh and yes, I dusted some before I took this picture.  It was dusty up there, although not nearly as bad as I was worried!

And then when it was time to paint behind the dryer this happened.

I think that tubey thing is supposed to be connected to the dryer.  Uh-oh.  Please don't tell Grumpy, I will try to figure it out before he finds out.

Time for a shocker.  I was able to get all of the above done during one, that is right one, nap time!  Little Miss took a very, very, very good nap.  I don't know what's up.  She normally doesn't let me get stuff done because she doesn't nap well!  Maybe she got the memo that I started a blog and it helps me stay sane while being a stay at home mama and decided to give me a break.  (That was so sweet of you Little Miss.)  Yeah right, she won't do it again.

Look how close I was to finished the room when she woke up!

Just that rectangle behind where the dryer was moved too (sigh).  So close.  But really, I shouldn't complain. That was such a good nap Little Miss!  Thank you!

Kisses~
