(Drum roll please.) I'm going to rebuild our decks in the back. Yes, you heard me, or read me, right. I am going to rebuild the decks in the back. My dad (I need a good nickname for him for the blog, any suggestions from those of you who know him??) will be helping me. Ok, he will basically be rebuilding the decks, and I will be doing whatever he says and trying not to ruin them.... Some pictures of the back decks now.
I know right? You are thinking, "Um what? I don't understand." Neither do I. They just don't make sense. There are several layers and then the weird wooden patio and the shed that is in the way. There is also a weird space of nothing by weeds in between the two decks, but that part is difficult to see in the picture.) I obviously have a MUCH better plan/idea for it all.
Oh, yeah this is how cool my dad is. While we were in the back figuring out the plan, he carried Little Miss around on his back. Seriously. He is that cool.
And he drew out this awesome plan for how it will look. Well he needed to draw it, so we can get the permit and whatever BS.
Basically I am going to make it all into one deck and that patio deal will be gone. The shed will be moved to the side of the house, so there will be more yard there. It will be pretty awesome. As usual.
So let's get to work!!
Oh and disclaimer, or whatever legal thing it should be called. This is most defiantly NOT a how-to-build-your-own-deck deal. I really have no idea what I'm doing and will be following my Dad's lead. My dad does know what he is doing. He has his own construction company for some 30 years now. I will be taking pictures and showing you all what we are doing in my usual hilarious fashion, however that doesn't mean you can just go out and copy us. I don't want someone getting hurt or anything because they saw something on my blog and were like "Ok, she said I could do this." No, I don't say you can do it. Use your common sense. Ok thanks.
Kisses~
Um... Grandpa Paul wearing an Ergo is the CUTEST thing I've ever seen. I don't have a good nickname for him, though. :)
ReplyDeleteI know right! :)
DeleteHis original nicknames are Case (for Hard Case-tough guy I guess playing pick-up foot ball games), Karzoots (some kind of weird Pittsburgh change-up for Case) His trail name is Punky. Of course I call him Honey cause he is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteKarzoots it is!:) Grumpy's Mom suggested Obi-Mon, Obi because he is so wise and mon because he is Jamaican cool
