Living Room: Part 5

Oh goodness!  It has been a few days.  I'm sorry!  School has started back up again for the summer.  I am only taking one class again, but it takes up some of my time.  Plus I have been busy with some other activities.  I'm sorry, I know seeing that I have put up a new post is the highlight of your day!!

Continuing on with the Living room!  So I finished painting the green window wall... even though in this picture it doesn't look like I did, I guess I took it before hand.  However, this is the other wall in the living room that needs painted, as well as the corner section that is in the middle of the house with the living room/dinning room and kitchen on different sides of it.  (That makes sense?  No?  Too bad.)

I picked a lovely off white/cream type color.  And I think I mentioned this before, but I do as much prep work as I can before Little Miss goes down for her nap.  Well today Doggie decided to eat the tape..... (Gross!  That wall is Gross!)

And as soon as I got her to stop, Little Miss decided she needed some tape too.  (I had some super funny lines I was going to post about these pictures, but I forgot what they were now.... But it was something about how I think these two communicate with each other in order to make my life difficult.)  I love them both very much.

When I finally got little Miss to sleep I started painting away!!

I had to use the extender deal for the painting.  Look how high up that is!!!  I really hope I don't get any on the celling.  I did not climb back up on the ladder to tape the celling.  I just used the edger deal.

So on the one wall I have these shelves.  (The tree on top my Grandpa made shortly before he passed away, and the bird houses below are ones that Cheetah Boy painted.)

Well they are screwed to the wall, or at least the mounts are screwed to the wall.  I don't feel like unscrewing them, and I am going to put the shelves back up, so I don't need to paint there right....?  Is that bad?

Oh my goodness!  These tall ceilings!  Even with the extend deal it is hard work!

My neck is killing me!  As you can clearly see in this picture.  I do not recommend purchasing a house with high ceilings.

I barley had enough paint, and I didn't have anymore roller paint dish deals, and I really wanted to paint sooooo I used our baking sheet.  It was really old and we needed a new one anyway!  Now I just have a better excuse to go buy a new cookie sheet.

It ended up taking me several days to get it all painted, but I did finally.

Now the living room is all put back together!  Grumpy can rejoice.  He wasn't a fan or having the room where he watches TV all in shambles.

Living Room: Part 4

On to the window wall!!!  It was REALLY difficult to paint that wall and not for the reasons I had anticipated.  The sunlight was constantly shinning through them, so I was not able to see the paint and check if I had missed spots!  As you can see in this picture.  No it is not a bad picture, this is what it was like for reals.

I also needed to move the TV and stand in order to paint in the corner.  I probably should have waited until Grumpy was home to help me move that... but in case you haven't noticed, I'm impatient when it comes to my projects.  After moving the TV, I found this....

I should add "cleaning behind the TV" to my cleaning list...This is what happens when you have children.

Ok, seriously. See how difficult that is to see?!?!  Stupid light.  Obviously I was just going to have to get the ladder out....

Soooo, I ended up getting the ladder out... and you know that step that says you are not supposed to step on it because it is too high?  This one:

I MIGHT have stepped on it.....  But obviously you shouldn't.  (I don't want someone getting hurt and being like "well Super Mommy did it".  Seriously, don't, it's not safe.)  Grumpy is going to be very upset at me.  It actually was scary.  I got a little freaked out, I'm not going to lie.  However, I'm about 99% sure my neighbor who is ALWAYS outside tending to his yard or vehicles or people watching, was spying on me.  So if I fell I'm sure he would have seen and called 911 or something.

Anyway I finished the window wall.  Little Miss woke up before I was done.  Of course, so she hung out in her play pen for awhile.  And then I blocked off the wet paint area from her and Doggie.  It worked out fine actually.

I had to wait until it was dark out to take a good after picture of the wall.  Gah, the blinds look gross.  I need new blinds.

Next I shall paint the other wall in the living room a off-whitish/cream color.  Stay tuned!!!

What? You missed the previous parts of this series?  Check them out!  Part 1,  Part 2,  and Part 3!!

Living Room: Part 3

I was so excited about how the corner turned out in the living room, I needed just to keep painting!  So I started up after I put Little Miss to bed.  And Cheetah Boy wanted to help.  He had fun painting all over the wall!

He is very excited that underneath the paint his drawings and writing will ALWAYS be there.   He did a very good job writing numbers!  Ok, I know I'm skipping ahead a little here, but I can't wait any longer to share how awesome this looks!!!!

Don't you just love it?  Oh yeah and there are the new shelves I got.  Wait, I might have already told you that.... I don't know I forget these things!!

So the real trick in here is going to be to get all the way up to our super high ceilings again.  And this wall has a ton of windows so it will be even more difficult.  I promised Grumpy I would not get up on the ladder to try to paint all the way to the top unless he is home... I will try to keep that promise.

Grumpy is very sad right now.  His Bruins just lost the Stanley Cup Finals.  So I should stop blogging and try to make him feel better.  Poor Grumpy.

Oh wait!  I didn't tell you about my weekend running!  Well I ran in Epic Relay, which is a relay race from Portland to Eugene in Oregon.  I ran a total of 10.5 miles, split up between 3 runs, one at about 11am, the next at 9pm and the last at 5am  I was very excited that I was able to run it all!  I actually had not been training, like at all, so I didn't think I was going to be able to.  I am pretty sore today still, but feeling better.  Basically the way these relays work is I am on a team of 12 people and we all take turns running.  It took my team 28 hours to do the whole thing! Sooo you don't really sleep.  We were lucky enough to sleep at our of our team members aunts house for about 2 hours.  And somehow I got to sleep in the spare bed... that was HEATED.  WHAT?!?!?!  I know!  It was awesome.  I didn't sleep, but it was very comfortable and felt good!  It is a pretty crazy time for sure.  But awesome and fun.  I had a beer after my 5 am run!  It felt silly to be drinking at 7am!  Although really I had been up sense about 6am the previous morning!

Grumpy watched the kids while I ran.  Poor Grumpy, Little Miss was crying for Mama a lot.  But Grumpy did good, I am very thankful to have a man who supports me and my crazy hobbies.  I am running another relay, Hood to Coast, in August!  Can't wait.

Ok.  I should go.

Kisses~

Living Room: Part 2

TWO THINGS:

First.  I am going to be gone for the next few days.  I am running Epic Relay with a team starting tomorrow.  It is from Portland to Eugene!  Oh boy, have I mentioned that I have NOT been running?  I'm f*cked.  But it will be fun.  Anyway, I will be doing that, I'll let you know how it goes.

Second.  I started an Esty shop.  You should check it out.

However, before I go I was able to do some more work in the living room!!  Want to find out what?

When Grumpy woke from his nap and saw the green he had this look on his face.

The green was still wet....

However, once it dried he approved and admitted to loving it.  It looks so good.

I went out and found some new shelving for the corner.  (Yes, it was new I'm sorry.  I know I am trying to only purchase used items.  I failed.)

I built the new shelves and put it all back together.  I impressed even myself.  It looks so good.  We have some more books that I will put in the shelf.

So awesome though. I just love it.  I must say, I am really loving painting all the rooms.  It really helps the house feel more like a home.  Our home.

Sorry, I know this isn't that long, and I was not that funny.  I should really get to bed though because I have to wake up at 5 to go RUN, RUN, RUN.  And Little Miss won't let me sleep.

Kisses~

Living Room: Part 1

So first things first... No one has entered the GIVEAWAY.  Sooooo I guess I will leave it open one more day.  You have until tomorrow at midnight now.  In order to enter share my blog on either Facebook or Pinterest, or you can like/follow my blog on either of those or Instagram, then comment to let me know what you did, and I will put your name in to win a lovely bag I made.  (Picture in the post.)

Moving on.  Ok, seriously, I need a new project!!!

When I first started this whole, "I'm going to make every room in the house beautiful"  Grumpy said I could paint every room except the living room.  Well.  Obviously I wanted to paint the living room.  I actually got some samples and put them on the wall before I bought the gallons of paint and showed them to Grumpy so he could "help" decide.  At least he thought he was helping....  I had to wait to paint the living room until we had moved all the toys downstairs.  We ended up moving a bunch of stuff around.  However, again most of my before pictures are on my old camera, I mean computer.  Booo.  I will figure out how to get them off at some point and write a prequel post.  Anyway, here are the samples.  And the before pictures of the living room I have.

So boring and dull wall colors!  I had recently purchased the pictures you see hanging in there, because Grumpy had some weird random pictures up that... well weren't beautiful.

I want to do two walls green and the other wall a white/off white color.  I am planning on doing the wall behind the couch green, as well as the wall you kind of see here, which is full of windows.

After Grumpy "helped" me decide which colors we liked best we were ready to go!  (This actually took several weeks, not a few seconds as it appears when you are reading this.)

Cheetah Boy all ready to paint!  He loves painting.  Although, he usually only paints a few minutes.

I am just starting with this corner to really make sure I like the green.  This corner DID have a tall shelf in it, you can see the side of it on the left of the pictures.  However, I am moving that shelf to our bedroom and finding different shelving for this corner.

Cheetah Boy, paint already!

Looking good!!  As usual the color looks different in pictures.  It looks a little more yellow in this picture.  But in person it looks awesome.

This is what Grumpy did while Cheetah Boy and I painted.  This man can fall asleep anywhere, anytime, in like 2 seconds.  It is super annoying, I hate him.

However, at least he didn't get in the way or grumble about the painting of the living room.  If you hadn't noticed, he does better just seeing the finished project.  The actual work stresses him out.  Or maybe he just says it does so he doesn't have to do any of it....  Hmmm.

Well Little Miss didn't sleep long enough to totally finish the corner (sigh).  We will see how it goes next time!

Kisses~

Are you going to enter the giveaway??
