How to Transform Your Wine Cabinet into a Shelf

So I thought of a super cool use for the wine cabinet deal that is like built into the wall.  Or screwed in, but Grumpy doesn't want me taking it down.

BEFORE!!!

So not the best thing to have hanging out in a daycare room.  Yes I had some binders in there, but I was like, "Hey! I could make it into a shelf somehow!!  So that I could put children's artwork for them to take home somewhere.

Hmm.  How do I do this?

First, I found a cardboard box that looked like each side would fit in for the shelves and got to work cutting.

Look!  there are shelved now.  But, because it is a wine shelf they are kind of slanted.  Paper probably wouldn't fall out, but I am worried about that kind of thing, and it still doesn't look that good.

So I cut out some more cardboard pieces to put on the front.

UGLY!  I need to cover them up so they are pretty.  Good thing my BFF gave me a bunch of scrapbook paper!!

Then you MIGHT remember "oh yeah, I was sewing and then I got totally distracted and started a completely new project!  Maybe I should turn off my sewing machine."

I used the hot glue gun to glue paper to the front.  I used two colors because the paper was not quite wide enough to cover  it completely.

Really!?!  It is too long and doesn't fit.  (sigh)  guess I have to RE DO it.  Super annoying.

Then I hot glued them all to the front!  Ta-da!!
Pretty cool huh?

But wait! It gets even cooler, I put some chalkboard stickers on the front to write kids' names.  Right now it says "Good job Super Mommy" but that didn't show up well in the picture.  Boo!

So there you have it!  If you have a wine shelf that your man wont let you take down, and you have it in a daycare room and want to cover it up and make it functionally, this is what you do!!:)  Yup, I'm awesome.

Have you checked out my Etsy Shop yet??

Garage: Part ?? Also Some Info on my Etsy Shop!

So remember a LONG time ago I said I was working on something for Grumpy's birthday??  Probably not, that was like two months ago.  Well.  Here is what I did.

Well first some BEFORE pictures.  I know I posted some other stuff about the garage transforming into a man cave, but its been awhile so you probably don't remember.  Its ok I forgive you, I don't remember!

Disgustingly messy garage!!!!

And then to begin my project!  While Grumpy was sleeping during the day on his birthday mind you!  Little Miss was such a good sport.  No not really, well for a little bit.  I don't really remember it was a while ago!  (As I already said like a million times.)  OK.

Ahh!!! My hand!!!!

Just kidding it is just red paint.  Did I freak you out?  hahaha.  Probably not....

Um I broke the one brush... well it is the extension deal and like the handle of the roller brush broke off inside of it.  So I no longer have an extension deal.  Good think I already painted the high ceiling walls... well I still have to do the dinning room, oh boy.

Other than that, it was pretty uneventful.  Grumpy woke up before it was done.  OF COURSE.  He was too excited for his birthday I guess.  Want to know how old he turned??  I shouldn't tell you, he will be GRUMPY.  Ok, you convinced me.  40!!  Oh boy he Is getting old.  Love you Grumps.

Ahh the sun just shone through the window really bright and I can't see my computer screen and have no idea what I am typing!  Ok well I mean I can't see what I'm typing

So here it is!  I painted it the same red as the playroom USED to be.  .

Looks pretty good, huh?  Grumpy liked it.  I think.  I don't know he still isn't using it as his man cave.  Instead he grumps around the house complaining about not having his own space and always being interrupted.  (Sigh)

And one more thing!  Not related to the above, BUT I added some new items to my Etsy Shop!  So you should check it out!!!

You can also get some coupons if you follow my Etsyshop and also follow it on Pinterest!!  The little writing at the bottom just says to message me what you do, so I know to send you the coupon codes!

Ok, have a lovely day!

Happy Christmas Time!!!!

Playroom: Part 5

I don't even remember where I left off with what used to be the "man cave".  Ok I found the last post, you can check it out here.  I am really sad, because I can't find that adorable romper Little Miss is warring in that picture!!!  I LOVED that. And it has disappeared.  No idea.  If any of you know where it is, please let me know!  It is so cute!!!

But, back to the work at hand.  Basically I have done A LOT down there.  Seriously.  A lot.  Just like everywhere else in the house!  But lets see if I can find some pictures of what I did.

Yup.  It is so adorable I don't even have funny things to say about it.  It is just what cute.  If  you notice, I painted each wall one of the primary colors.  And then the one wall has a lovely scene on it.  I might do some more with that, but I'm not sure yet.  And I moved around some of the toys and child items.  My craft corner is pretty much non existent now.  Most of my fabric is upstairs in the closet, and my desk was moved upstairs.  I don't know if I mentioned that in another post.... Maybe.  I still have some stuff down there, and it is in the cabinet, but I have to get it all out if I want to use it, instead of everything just being out.  And well that is just annoying.  Who wants to spend time doing that?  Not me. So I never craft anymore.

I'm kidding.  I do.  But it is annoying, and I do wish that I had a craft space just for me.  But ok.  This is pretty adorable down here!  And the kids love it!

I will try to post a little more often.... get back into the swing of it, but no promises.

Garage: Part 2

If you recall, I am organizing the garage into a man cave for Grumpy.  So I moved the couch that was down in the playroom into the garage.

Seriously it looks awesome.  I am not showing the rest of the garage at this time.  Because, well, its a mess.  But this part looks good!  I found an old rug too!  Grumpy said something about being "Banished to the garage".  To which I replied if he didn't want it, I would take it.  I would LOVE to have a space in the house for just MY stuff.  He was quick to say "No, no I want it."  See I am good to him.  I'm not some evil ,bossy lady.

And in the playroom where the couch used to be, I moved stuff around like this!  I love the cute little table I got at Ikea!  It is a work in progress, just like everything else, but it does help the playroom feel bigger and more open!

I want to make more like "sections" in the playroom.  Like a section with the kitchen deal and all the dress up clothes and then a "building section" with the blocks and train tracks and a "reading section" with the books and like comfy pillows and chairs and such.

I guess that is part of the playroom posts not the garage one.... Sorry I got distracted.

ANYWAY.  Basically the man cave is happening.  I need to organize the REST of the garage. But that will happen.

Kisses~

Garage: Part 1

So I know you guys want to see what's up with the back deck, but I started another project.  I know, I know.  But the deck is taking FOREVER.  And I need something to do on the days Grandpa Obi-Mon isn't here!  Yes, the kids and house keep me more than busy.  But still.

Also, I am always giving Grumpy a hard time, and changing the house up all crazy like how I want it.  (I promise he really does have a say in it all, if he didn't like it I would change it.) So I thought I would show you guys that I really am not all evil or whatever.  I have a secret plan to turn the garage into a new "Man cave"  for him.  I'm that awesome.  However, this might take awhile.  Just look at the garage now!

Wow, it is even worse looking at the pictures!  I want to weep and fall upon the floor.  It is simply terrible.  And the only thing that is stopping me from weeping, is that I have already done a lot of work in there!  But you will have to wait to find out.  Instead I will keep you up with these pictures.  If you are anything like me you won't be able to sleep because you will be thinking about how you want to just come over and clean it!  Oh my goodness, it is seriously terrible.  I need to post this so I don't have to look at it anymore!!  YUCK.

Kisses~

Laundry Room: Part 5

Ok, so I worked a little bit more on the laundry.  I THINK I'm done now.  First of all, I was like oh I have some of that blue from the downstairs hallway.  That would be pretty to paint the inside of the cabinet in the laundry room!  It turned out nice.

And I bought a hanger deal for the broom and mop.  The children decided to help me with this part.

So I kinda messed this part up and had to redo it.  It wasn't level the first time.  As you can clearly see in this two pictures.... I was very annoyed.  Ah well.

But it turned out good at the end!  So much more organized.

I also printed off an old-ish looking washing machine ad to hang up and a cartoon.  Then I found this washboard at my parent's house.  We used it growing up to play with.  It all turned out lovely!!

I found this cute sign for the door at the farmers market.  I am sure I could have painted something up cute myself.  But I like to support the local artists/crafters!  (Also, I don't think I could paint that nicely....)

Remember what it used to look like???  You can see here.  It looks a million times better now!  Ah, another finished project.  Well for now anyway.

Kisses~

Play Room/Craft Room: Part 4

If you would so kindly recall, you left me while I was weeping over the loss of my craft room.  Ok, it wasn't totally a craft room, but I had all my craft crap spread out everywhere and now I needed to turn it into a baby safe playroom.  I am pretty sure in my last post I basically just needed to move the toys down.  (sigh)  Well I did.  Check out the results.

Clearly it is a much loved child space now.  And I must admit I did a pretty awesome job.  If you notice, I tried to make sections or whatever.  Ok not really, but there is the shelf with all the books and there is the "Kitchen Area" that shelf by the kitchen also has the dress up clothes and practical life type stuff.

And I realize I didn't take a picture of my craft corner space or the cabinet deal, however my camera broke and so I am only taking pictures with my phone, and for whatever reason it doesn't want to load pictures onto my computer right, and I'm too annoyed at the moment to fight with it.  But I do still have a little craft corner space.  It is something.

So now the living room is toy free.  Grumpy was very excited about this.  I, however, realize that this means the kids will just get into the books and movies that are in the living room, because I cannot ALWAYS keep the kids down in the playroom.  But he will learn.

So this room is done for the time being.  Grumpy is being all grumpy about me painting down here.  I know.  I just moved ALL the toys down here so he can have the living room.  (I'm awesome.)  Anyway.  And all of you freaked out about me removing the wet bar.  So fine.  For now I wont.  and I do want to paint the cabinet I didn't take a picture of, however it wont be happening anytime soon.

I have a new project I really want to share with you.  So I need to "finish" this one up.  HA.

Oh, and I guess I will do another giveaway.  I kind of feel bad, because it is a bag that I messed up on.  Well the inside seams don't match perfectly, and I was/am too annoyed to rip it out and fix it.  But I do feel like you guys deserve GOOD stuff, not a bag with seams that don't match.  However, I realize that actually the bag is totally fine, I'm just a perfectionist.  So here is the deal.  Comment on this post, saying you want it and you are entered.  Share my blog on Facebook/Pinterest/Instagram and you get another one.  REMEMBER TO COMMENT TO LET ME KNOW WHAT ALL YOU DID, so I give the correct amount of entries.  So that is, let me see, a total of 4 entries.  Or 5 if you are a new like-er on Facebook.

Ready, set GO!

What?  You want to see a picture. Oops.

And that is the inside that is all messed up.  In case you don't want it because of that.  So yeah.

OMG.  My mouse is all messed up, or the blogger website is, or SOMETHING, because my lines/pictures keep getting all messed up crazy!  So I am just posting this.  It is not my fault if it looks weird.

Kisses~

AND, the baby is crying. (sigh)

Laundry Room: Part 4

If you so kindly remember,  I left off with the Laundry Room after I had applied a coat of primer on the cabinets.  Well, next it was time to paint!  But first, I had to make sure Little Miss was sleeping.  Isn't she just the cutest?

So I realized, after using just a brush for the whole coat of primer, that I could use the small roller!  Wow, way quicker.

Although I still needed to use this little, tiny cutesy brush for the corners.

Oh wait, I can actually use the full size roller.  I'm an idiot.

So much quicker.  Still very annoying.  But much quicker.

I was HOPING I would only have to do two coats of paint, but alas, that was not to be.  So I had to wait until I put Little Miss down for bed (Cheetah Boy was at bio dads) to finish.  Little Miss why won't you just play happily in your playpen so I can get some stuff I want to do done?  Oh, because you are only 14 months.  Whatever.

So the cabinets have all sorts of little corners and crap that are hard to paint,  I wonder if I just put a glob at the top, will it just drip all the way down and cover it all?

Yeah, but it will take forever, and then I might forget it is there and it will probably dry that way or something.  It was a good idea though Super Mommy.  Thanks.

Shit.  Those look amazing.  Can you remember how they used to look???  I mean seriously.

So the inside is not totally painted.  I forgot to take a picture of that part....  I ran out of paint though, and I felt it was more important to get the outside done.  So I did.  I will finish the inside at some point, and I want to get some of that pretty-paper-sticky stuff to put on the shelves.  Whatever it's called.

So....... I made a little mistake.  Some white paint got on the pretty blue wall.  I still have some of the blue paint though, so I will cover that up.  (sigh) I can never just be done with a project.

So I still need to finish taking the tape off, find some fun pictures to hang in here, find some organize-y deal for the broom and mop that Getting Schooled Mama suggested.  Crap, I thought I was almost done with this project!  Nope.

Kisses~

Are you wishing you had my laundry room?!?
